Facial Thread Veins; Telangiestasia

Causes: The blood vessels within our skin expand and contract in response to changes, such as temperature, increased heart rate, irritants & allergies, medications and lifestyle. With repeated exposure to these causes, the superficial vessel walls lose their elasticity and become permanently dilated, resulting in the appearance of red fine lines on the skin.

Identification points: Bright red, thread-like lines, commonly found around the nose, cheeks and chest areas.

Treatment: Advanced Electrolysis - Depending upon the cause and severity of the blemish, it is usual to have follow up treatments.

Spider Naevus

Cause: Trauma to the skin, such as a knock or injury

Identification points: Bright red, thread-like vessels radiating from a central point, like a spider. The centre may be flat or raised.

Treatment: Advanced Electrolysis - Depending upon the severity of the blemish, it is usual to have follow up treatments.

Skin Tags; Fibro Epithelial Polyps

Cause: Found in the folds of skin and within areas of friction. Develop through age and may have a genetic link.

Identification points: Soft, floppy, protrusions of skin, can be skin coloured or pigmented. The body of the tag is always larger than the attachment. No hairs present.

Treatment: Advanced Electrolysis - This is a single treatment.

Blood Spot; Cherry Angioma

Causes: Genetic

Identification points: Bright red blood spots, may be flat or raised in a dome shape. Smooth, no vessels and symmetrical. Located on the body, face and scalp.

Treatment: Advanced Electrolysis - Large raised angiomas may take a follow up treatment. Small, flat angiomas are often a single treatment.

Milk Spots; Milia

Cause: Factors such as cholesterol levels, diet, and genetics are often linked to the development of milia. These issues can also arise from the over use of low-quality skincare products and sunscreens. Commonly found on dry skin types.

Identification points: Raised, small, round, milk-coloured spots. Commonly found around the eyes and cheekbone areas.

Treatment: Advanced Electrolysis - Single treatment.

Warts; Seborrhoeic Keratosis

Cause: Genetic & age.

Identification points: Dry, crumbly texture. Often skin coloured in early development, darkening as they become more established. Start as flat pale plaques, becoming thicker and larger in diameter. Due to the superficial nature there is a clear 'lip attachment'.

Treatment: Advanced Electrolysis - A single treatment. The amount treated in one session is determined by the size of the blemish.

Xanthelasma

Causes: Linked to cholesterol and diet. May have a genetic link.

Identification points: Milky, yellow plaques located around the eyes, becoming thicker and raised as they develop.

Treatment: Advanced Electrolysis - Often a course of treatments depending on the severity of the condition. This condition is not cured, unless the cause is addressed, but can be visibly reduced.

Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra

Cause: Genetic & Age.

Identification points: Slightly raised, small, round, dark pigmented spots. Commonly found around the eyes, face and neck.

Treatment: Advanced Electrolysis - Single treatment. Results are fantastic, even on pigmented skin due to the pin-point accuracy of the treatment. A patch test is performed during the consultation.

Verrucae & Common Warts

Cause: Viral.

Identification points: Dry, rough texture. Verrucae are often flat as they are located on the feet. Common warts are often raised as they are located on the hands.

Treatment: Advanced Electrolysis - Often a course of treatment.
